All the legends make a little more sense when we look at this photo.

Is it true that the bar in the lobby of the King's Building is the Sevier Hotel bar?  The owner said he bought it from Granny's Attic.

This photo is from the Burr Harrison Collection at ETSU and shows Montrose Court in the mid-1920s during the time Al Capone was a part-time resident.   Interesting to note is how under developed the area west of the apartment complex is.   It is totally different  from today's densely developed Tree Street area - and appears to be on the developmental edge of the "Southwest Addition" - railroad baron George L. Carter's residential acreage.

Great photos, a lot of them I've never seen before. I hope they plan on adding more to this. It would be nice to have the entire photo archive available on line at some point.

Bob Cox discovered a nice old marketing item from the John Sevier Hotel that has inside photos.
