Two noted local map gurus - Glenn Berry and P.C. Snapp have restored and digitized a rare 1928 General Plan map for Johnson City drawn by the nationally known urban planner John Nolen:

It's weird seeing Water Street continue around "City Mountain Park."

That whole area is a big hole in the middle of town now.  (Meaning no disrepect to American Water Heater, but that area isn't open to the public anymore, is it, so it's an empty hole in the maps now.)
