Did I ever mention that my Great-Great-Grand-Uncle  (I may have no idea how many "greats" I need, my Grandmothers' father's brother, anyhow) was the man who first opened and operated the Mast General Store in North Carolina?  My grandmother grew up in the store in Valle Crucis.

I don't know much about the family other than that.

My grandmother grew up in that store.  She would tell me stories about how they spent more time at the store than at home.  Somewhere, my Mom or my Aunt has some great photos of the place when it was less of a tourist attraction and more of a necessity.  Mamaw always kept the photos on the walls of her guest room.
